During our yearly visit to Tigorikro, our cocoa farmers told us they could use bicycles to travel to their plantations, so we did a local campaign around our factory in Lokeren.

The result: 253 donated bicycles were checked, repaired and shipped by container to Côte d'Ivoire to help our farmers, the local women's community, our local partners & the local primary school.

Premium quality chocolate starts with premium quality cocoa. Besides Fairtrade, Belfine has its own sustainability programme Route De Cacao supporting 131 cocoa farmers in the village Tigorikro, Ivory Coast. Thanks to training they can produce more and better quality cocoa in a sustainable and responsible way, thereby increasing their incomes and improving their livelihoods.

100% of the cocoa beans are traceable to the farmers. We organise monthly follow ups with the cocoa farmers to check the training programme and support additional social projects.
